Town of Lexington Employment Opportunity Police Department Cadet Up to 18 hrs/week – No Benefits $15.63 per hour The required Town of Lexington application form and cover letter must be received in the Town's Human Resources Department. This position is open until filled. Diversity Appointment Priority Individuals who have language skills such as Mandarin, Korean, or other languages common to the India/Pakistan region are encouraged to apply. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and must be enrolled in a college or university studying fields related to public service.
Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain office files; operate office machines; and answer telephones. Receive complaints from citizens. Enter and index documents into databases and prepare routine police reports. Prepare and tabulate facts and figures for statistical reports. Perform other duties as may be requested by the Chief of Police or designee. Participate in training leading to certification in a variety of subjects.
Qualifications: Applicants must be at least 18 years old and enrolled in a program of study majoring in criminal justice or a similar area of study. Prior to appointment, the final candidate may be required to undergo a background check.
