Skills for Chicago Is a Chicago-based nonprofit that removes barriers to employment by eliminating biases that disqualify candidates unnecessarily. Working with local and global companies, Skills brings opportunities to neighborhoods and municipalities throughout the Chicagoland area. To be eligible for Skills for Chicago services, candidates must reside in Illinois or Indiana, be authorized to work in the United States, and be either unemployed or underemployed. Job Highlights Reads orders and follows blueprint instructions Builds assemblies to specified bill of materials (BOM); ability to use hand tools and power tools to assemble seats Obtains parts for assembly by way of blueprint, pick list, and/or order Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Candidate Profile: Must be able to stand for long periods of time and walk frequently Ability to use a computer to access blueprints and CAD drawings Must have strong math and measurement skills Ability to read English
