About the role
Collarte Interiors is a Miami-based residential design studio working on highly considered private residences in Florida, Colorado and beyond. We are looking for a Mid-Level Interior Designer to join our Coconut Grove studio and take an active role across projects from concept through installation. This is an opportunity for a strong designer who wants meaningful project ownership within a design-driven studio. Working closely with our Principal, the Mid-Level Interior Designer will lead 2–3 projects at once, with an emphasis on design development, construction documentation, FF&E specification and budgeting, and coordination through installation. The ideal candidate has a keen eye for design, exceptional communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and a collaborative approach to working with others. We are looking for someone who is not only passionate about interior design but also demonstrates a strong, consistent work ethic and a dedication to high-quality craftsmanship. This is a full-time, in-person position based at our Coconut Grove studio in Miami.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Work closely and collaborate with the Principal through all project phases, from concept to completion· Develop design concepts, mood boards, material palettes, and presentations that communicate the design vision· Lead sourcing of fabrics, furniture, finishes, lighting, and decorative objects consistent with our studio’s aesthetic· Prepare comprehensive interior design construction documents, along with coordinated schedules and specifications for build· Develop drawings for custom furniture, built-ins, and millwork in collaboration with fabricators and craftspeople· Own FF&E specifications, schedules, and budgets from selection through procurement and installation· Attend client meetings and site visits, ensuring clear communication and project alignment· Coordinate with architects, contractors, vendors, and craftspeople to ensure seamless project installation· Track project timelines, deliverables, and budgets, flagging issues to the Principal early· Maintain accurate and organized project files, specifications, and material librariesREQUIREMENTS· Minimum of 4–5 years of professional experience in high-end residential interior design and project management· Four-year degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field from an accredited institution· Proven experience overseeing projects from concept through installation, with a solid understanding of the entire design process· Strong design sensibility and a demonstrated interest in furniture, materials, art, and craft· Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and Houzz Pro· Exceptional organizational skills with a strong focus on detail and professionalism· Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced studio environment· Excellent written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey ideas in a polished, professional manner· Reliable, self-motivated, and resourceful, with the judgment to work with minimal oversight· Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively as part of a team· Ability to work full-time and in person from our Coconut Grove studioBONUS SKILLS· Strong hand-sketching ability· Experience with Revit, Sketch Up, or 3D rendering software· Experience with Studio Designer or similar FF&E/project management software· Established relationships with high-end residential furnishings, textile, lighting, and trade vendors· Experience preparing custom furniture or millwork drawingsAPPLICATIONTo be considered for this position, please submit a PDF resume and portfolio.
