Compensation: Base salary up to $150k, depending on experience Overview An established commercial laundry operation serving the linen service industry is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead its maintenance department. This role is central to keeping industrial textile processing equipment and facility systems running safely, efficiently, and reliably.
What you'll do: Champion safety as the top priority, ensuring a safe working environment and protection of all company assets Oversee proper maintenance, preventive maintenance (PMs), repairs, and installations on all plant equipment Supervise, direct, coordinate, and assign daily work schedules to hold the maintenance team accountable Develop and implement computerized methods, control systems, and procedures to maintain a fully operational and productive preventive maintenance program, parts stockroom, and inventory system Monitor and ensure efficient use of all utilities, practicing energy conservation through usage reduction and cost control Recommend and communicate capital expenditures, equipment, parts, supplies, and materials needs to senior management Required qualifications 3+ years of Maintenance Management experience with specific knowledge of machinery, electricity, electronics, plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics, welder, and boiler applications Commercial laundry experience is requiredA preventive maintenance mindset with experience managing a PM program in this industry or a similar industry Previous supervisory/management experience with a proven ability to lead and train a team of maintenance technicians Strong electrical troubleshooting ability with 3 phase 230 volt systemsPLC programming experience Experience in carpentry, boiler repair, welding, and general facility repairsA team player with enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work well done; a self-starter dedicated to continual quality improvement
