Westminster Canterbury of Lynchburg, a 5-Star rated Continuing Care Retirement Community in Central VA is seeking a Bartender to join our team! Full-time position available with a complete benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, Paid Time Off, 403B with match, and more. Typical hours are Mon-Tue 3 PM- 9 PM, Wed-Fri 11 AM- 9 PM · Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails and other drinks for both the grille and the Westminster Dining Room according to prescribed recipes or portions, referring to recipe card or book as needed. · Wash glassware and utensils after each use. · Open and pour wine and beer. · Collect payment and operate a cash register computer system. · Serve food to customers seated at the bar and in Grille area. · Check identification of customers to make sure they meet age requirements for purchase of alcohol and tobacco products. · Determine when a customer has had too much alcohol. · Clean up after customers and clean work area. · Order and maintain liquor and bar supplies. · Arrange bottles and glasses to make attractive displays. · Ensure customer satisfaction by handling bar transactions in a fast, efficient, and friendly manner. · Perform wait staff functions for all food orders. · Perform hosting functions, whenever necessary. · Keep bar stocked with necessary beverages, food items, paper supplies, utensils, ice, and other supplies at all times. · Slice fruit for garnishing and store using appropriate containers. · Keep workstation clean and well organized. · Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and a positive, calm environment. · Perform other related duties as assigned.
