About the Role: The Company is in search of an Associate General Counsel with a focus on servicing and title to join their legal team. The successful candidate will be the primary legal partner for the company's home equity investment product, specifically in the post-origination lifecycle. This role is pivotal in the servicing side, covering a range of responsibilities from onboarding to defaults, exits, and maturity. The Associate General Counsel will provide day-to-day legal counseling to the funding, post-closing, servicing, and investor operations teams, and will be instrumental in expanding the regulatory and compliance foundation for the product. The position requires a hands-on approach, a strong sense of ownership, and the ability to build and maintain legal playbooks and processes. Applicants must have a J.D. and active bar membership, with a preference for those eligible for in-house practice in California. A minimum of 7 years' of experience in mortgage or consumer finance law is required, with a focus on residential mortgage or real estate-secured consumer finance servicing matters. The role demands a deep understanding of title, lien-priority, and recording issues, as well as experience in managing outside counsel and legal technology. The ideal candidate will have a background in default servicing, foreclosure, bankruptcy, or loss mitigation, and experience in building legal processes within a scaling legal function. The position is fully remote, and the company values a diverse and inclusive work environment. Hiring Manager TitleDeputy General Counsel FunctionsLegal

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
