Role Description:
The Freight Broker Agent role is a full-time remote position responsible for managing freight movements between shippers and carriers. Day-to-day tasks include sourcing carriers, negotiating rates, securing capacity, and coordinating freight dispatch to ensure on-time, safe delivery. The role involves building and maintaining customer and carrier relationships, providing proactive communication and updates, and resolving service issues promptly. The Freight Broker Agent will track shipments, monitor performance, and utilize logistics technology platforms to manage loads, documentation, and real-time status. This position also includes identifying new business opportunities, supporting customized transportation strategies, and collaborating with internal teams to uphold Norfleet’s performance and service standards.
Qualifications:
Candidates should possess strong skills in Freight Brokerage and Brokerage, including negotiating rates, matching freight with carriers, and managing end-to-end load coordination.
MUST HAVE:
A BOOK OF BUSINESS.Candidates should possess solid Customer Service and Account Management skills to build relationships, manage expectations, and provide timely, professional communication to shippers and carriers. Candidates should possess operational skills in Dispatching, including scheduling loads, monitoring transit, and coordinating with drivers and carriers to ensure on-time performance. Ability to use transportation management systems, load boards, and tracking tools; proficiency with common office software (e.g., email, spreadsheets, CRM systems).Strong problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple loads and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including professional phone etiquette and clear documentation. Previous experience in freight brokerage, logistics, trucking, or transportation operations is preferred. Self-motivated, results-driven, and comfortable working independently in a remote setting; high level of integrity and commitment to service quality.
