Lead VIP Host

ApplyAbout the role
About DripDrip is an AI-native social commerce marketplace for passionate communities, starting with collectibles. We power live streaming, digital packs, and other community-based commerce mechanics — for our own marketplace and for some of the leading brands in the collectibles hobby. We've been growing 20%+ per month for the last six months, and we're profitable. We're backed by Base10, Eniac Ventures, Kindred Ventures, and Harlem Capital.
The role:
A small number of collectors account for a large share of everything that happens on Drip. They're here most nights. They know what they're chasing. They notice when something goes wrong, and they notice when someone remembers. Right now, no one owns those relationships by name. That's the job. This is a sales role built on relationships, not a service role with a relationship veneer. You'll carry a book of our highest-spend collectors and a number that goes with it. You'll grow the collectors who are already active, win back the ones who've gone quiet, and move high-potential members up into the top tier. Two things make this different from a standard VIP job. Reactivation is not a side project — a meaningful share of your target will come from collectors who used to spend with us and stopped. And you are expected to hunt. Some of the collectors who should be on Drip have never heard of us, and finding them, reaching them, and bringing them in is part of the role, not a stretch goal. This is the first hire on a function we're building from scratch, and it's a lead role. You'll co-build the program with our Head of Retention & Whale Acquisition — tiering, cadence, perk structure, playbook — and you'll be the person we build the team around as it scales. If you want to inherit someone else's system and run it, this isn't the job.
What you'll do:
- Sell and reactivate
- Carry a revenue target against a defined book of top collectors, and hit itSource net-new collectors from outside the platform. Build target lists, work the show circuit and collector communities, run direct outreach, and turn referrals from your book into new relationships
- Run systematic win-back on lapsed VIPs — build the target list, work it, and report on what moves
- Grow spend inside the existing book: know what each collector is chasing and put it in front of them
- Manage a credit and perk budget with real discretion, and be accountable for what it returns
- Own the relationships
- Know your collectors by name, category, grail list, budget rhythm, and history with us — in the CRM, not in your head
- Reach out proactively and between streams, not just when someone shows upBroker access to inventory: flag chase cards and hold back the right item for the right collector, working with the buying and live teams
- Own escalations end to end, including chasing internal teams so the collector never has toShow up where collectors are — live, in Discord, in DMs, and in person at shows
- Co-build the program
- Partner with the Head of Retention & Whale Acquisition to define tiering criteria, contact cadence, perk structure, and what a healthy VIP relationship looks like
- Build the reporting that tells us whether any of it is working
- Bring back what your book teaches you about pack economics, pricing, assortment, and where we lose people
- Help hire and ramp the hosts who come after you
- Your first 90 days
Days 1–30: Learn the product as a buyer. Open packs, take delivery, submit a card. Get in front of every collector at the top of the book.
Days 31–60: A written point of view on tiering and coverage, a working contact cadence, and an active reactivation campaign against the lapsed list.
Days 61–90: Measurable revenue movement in your book, a reactivation number we can trust, a working pipeline of net-new collectors, and a hiring plan for the team behind you.
What we're looking for:
- Required 5+ years in a quota-carrying, relationship-driven sales or account role — and at least some of it spent on high-value individual clients rather than companies
- A book you built yourself, and specifics on what happened to it: how it grew, what your retention and win-back numbers were, who you lost and why
- Demonstrated reactivation experience. Bringing back a client who left is a different skill from keeping one who stayed, and we want the person who's good at the harder one
- A hunting track record. You've sourced high-value clients who weren't handed to you — through cold outreach, events, communities, or referrals — and you can name how you found your last several
- Genuine comfort with high-spend individuals — you can talk to someone dropping serious money without being intimidated or obsequious
- Follow-up discipline that doesn't need a manager behind itAnalytical enough to open a spend report and know which three people to call today
- The judgment and self-direction to operate as the first person in a function, with no playbook waiting for you
- Available nights and weekends. Our business runs when collectors are off work
- Strongly preferred
- Knowledge of the hobby — sports cards, Pokémon, or TCG. You know sets, chase cards, grading, and comps, or you can learn it fast enough that no one can tell
- Experience standing up a VIP, loyalty, or high-value account program rather than joining an established one
Management experience, or a clear readiness for itWe are not looking for a support queue manager or a relationship caretaker, or someone who only performs when the leads arrive pre-qualified. This is a book of business with a number attached, and part of that book doesn't exist yet.

Marketplace or creator-platform account management
Consumer platforms where a small number of customers drive most of the revenue
The hobby itself — card shops, the show circuit, or a breaker's community team
How we'll measure you
Revenue retained and grown within your book
Reactivated spend from lapsed VIPsMembers moved up into the top tier
Net-new high-value collectors sourced and activated
Coverage and contact quality — are the right people being reached, and do they respond
Return on the perk and credit budget you deploy
Collector-reported satisfaction and issue resolution time
Compensation$100K–$120K base salary, plus performance-based variable compensation tied to retained, reactivated, and net-new spend within your book. Equity included.

- Intro call with the Head of Retention & Whale Acquisition
- Deep dive on your book — how you built it, grew it, and what happened when you lost someone
- Practical exercise
- Conversation with a member of the leadership team
- References, including at least one former client where possible

Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
