A well-established Middle Tennessee commercial general contractor with more than 35 years building across the Nashville region. Known for quality workmanship, strong design-build and preconstruction capabilities, and deep roots in the communities it serves, the firm has an active pipeline of commercial, education, and multifamily projects and is looking to add a Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager to support its project teams.
Job Description:
The Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager supports the Project Manager and Superintendent across all phases of construction, helping coordinate, document, and drive projects to successful completion. With a current workload heavy in K-12 and commercial work, this is an excellent opportunity for a motivated up-and-comer to gain hands-on experience and grow with a respected regional builder.
Select Responsibilities:
Support contract administration, including subcontractor selection, bid documents, and change order agreements Provide organized document control, including daily logs, submittals, RFIs, and monthly status reports Manage the RFI, change order, and shop drawing process, ensuring timely and accurate documentation Work directly with subcontractors and vendors to support quality and cost control Track and document inspections and re-inspections Assist with material tracking, procurement coordination, and delivery scheduling Support project close-out, including punch lists, warranties, and closeout documentation Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Manager or Superintendent Ideal Candidate 1–4 years of experience in commercial, K-12/Education, multifamily, or similar ground-up construction (recent graduates with relevant internship experience considered)Working knowledge of construction principles, documentation, and project controls Strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skillsA team-first attitude and eagerness to learn and grow Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred What's on Offer Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package An active K-12 and commercial pipeline offering stability and steady project experience Direct mentorship from seasoned PMs and Superintendents at a respected regional firmA collaborative, community-focused culture with real room to grow
