About the role
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain the company fleet, including diesel and gas trucks (light and medium duty), dump trucks, and trailers
- Service and repair landscape equipment: commercial mowers (zero-turn, stand-on, walk-behind), skid steers, compact tractors, and handheld power equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance: oil changes, filters, fluids, belts, brakes, tires, and inspections
- Troubleshoot engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and drivetrains using diagnostic tools
- Repair and maintain trailer brakes, lights, wiring, hitches, and safety chains
- Do DOT inspections and keep vehicles compliant
- Do light welding and fabrication for repairs and custom equipment setups
- Prioritize repairs to keep downtime low for field crews
- Keep the shop clean, organized, and safe
- 3+ years of experience as a diesel, fleet, or heavy equipment mechanic
- Strong diagnostic skills with diesel engines, hydraulics, and 12V/24V electrical systems
- Experience with small engines and commercial landscape equipment is a big plus
- Your own basic hand tools (company provides specialty tools and diagnostic equipment)
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (required)
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a shop or field setting in all weather
- Dependable, organized, and able to work independently with little supervision
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
- PreferredASE certifications (Diesel/Medium-Heavy Truck series a plus)CDL Class A or BDOT inspector qualification
- Welding and fabrication experience
