About the role
Transportation Aide / Maintenance Laborer The Transportation Aide / Maintenance Laborer is responsible for assisting with transportation services and performing general maintenance duties to ensure the safe, clean, and efficient operation of facilities, grounds, vehicles, and equipment. This position requires a dependable individual who can support transportation needs while performing routine maintenance and labor tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Transportation Duties:
Transport residents, materials, or equipment to designated locations safely and efficiently.
Assist passengers with boarding, exiting, and securing personal belongings.
Maintain vehicle cleanliness and ensure routine maintenance needs are reported.
Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and organizational transportation policies.
Assist in loading and unloading supplies, equipment, or materials.
Maintenance Labor Duties:
Perform general maintenance and repair tasks on buildings, grounds, and equipment.
Assist with painting, landscaping, snow removal, and cleaning projects.
Move furniture, equipment, and materials as needed.
Perform routine inspections and report maintenance concerns.
Assist skilled maintenance personnel with repairs and preventive maintenance projects.
Maintain clean and safe work areas at all times.
And all other duties as assigned
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Previous transportation, maintenance, laborer, or custodial experience preferred.
Knowledge of workplace safety procedures and practices.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Ability to safely operate vehicles and maintenance equipment.
Dependability and punctuality.
Attention to detail.
Time management skills.
Problem-solving ability.
Commitment to safety and customer service.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Work is performed in vehicles, facilities, and outdoor environments.
Exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, dust, and maintenance-related hazards.
