Assistant/Associate/Full Professor - College ofComputing Allendale, MI Full Time R105083The College of Computing at Grand Valley State University is expanding and inviting applications for one tenured or tenure-track position across all ranks to join in Winter 2027 or Fall 2027. While all areas of Computer Science or closely related areas are encouraged to apply, preference will be given to candidates with a teaching and/or research background in Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, Data Science, Quantum Computing, and Human-Centered Computing/Design to fill the position. Successful candidates will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, mentor undergraduate and graduate students, establish a robust, externally funded research program, and publish in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings. The faculty can also hire PhD students via our new PhD program in Computing and join various research institutes hosted in the College of Computing.

Applicants of all ranks require an earned doctorate in Computer Science, or a closely related field by the appointment date. Applicants for tenured Associate and Full Professor must have academic experience demonstrating excellent teaching and a strong scholarship record, with a history of successful grant writing. You can contribute by teaching in comprehensive degree programs and designing new programs to prepare career-ready talent in cutting-edge areas of computing. You will have the opportunity to expand our research and teaching portfolio and increase the impact via multidisciplinary collaborations. The College of Computing offers ABET accredited undergraduate programs, several minors, badges and graduate degrees. Grand Valley has over 24,000 students. The College of Computing has over 50 full-time faculty, approximately 1,000 undergraduate students, and 400 graduate students. We focus on experiential learning with opportunities for faculty-industry collaboration via the college's Applied Computing Institute, our Institute for Cybersecurity Education and Research, as well as the Artificial Intelligence Research and Innovation Institute, the West Michigan Trustworthy Artificial Intelligence Consortium, and newly established GVSU Hub on Advanced Computing Research.
Salary & Benefits: Assistant Professor: Minimum starting salary of $105,000, commensurate with experience Associate Professor: Minimum starting salary of $125,000, commensurate with experience Full Professor: Minimum starting salary of $160,000, commensurate with experience Comprehensive benefits package including medical, vision, dental, life insurance, generous employer retirement contributions, wellness resources and tuition waiver effective on date of hire.
