And we believe long-term relationships—with our customers, employees, and partners—are the foundation of our success.READY TO BUILD SOMETHING DIFFERENT?If you're an experienced Superintendent who takes pride in your work, enjoys the challenge of retail construction, and wants a company with a consistent pipeline of work, strong client relationships, and a team that supports its field leaders, we'd like to hear from you.THE OPPORTUNITYAs a Traveling Site Superintendent, you'll take ownership of day-to-day field operations for retail construction projects throughout the United States.Typical projects range from $100,000 to $1 million and run 4–12 weeks, including:Retail remodelsTenant improvementsOpen-store remodelsOther commercial retail construction projectsDepending on the account, you'll manage subcontractors and multiple trades, self-perform portions of the work, or do a combination of both.WHAT YOU'LL GET$80,000–$100,000 BASE SALARY + PROJECT COMPLETION BONUSESWe understand the demands of traveling, so we provide a benefits and support package designed to make life on the road easier:Health insuranceDental and vision insurance401(k) with company matchAuto allowanceCell phone allowancePer diemCompany-paid business travel and lodgingCompany-paid travel home approximately every 3–4 weeksSupport and provisions for employees who travel with RVsCompany-provided technology and field supportDedicated one-on-one Project Manager supportConsistent pipeline of projectsCareer advancement opportunitiesWHAT WE'RE LOOKING FORWe're looking for a construction professional who can take ownership of a jobsite and earn the confidence of customers, subcontractors, and our project team.Preferred qualifications:5+ years of commercial construction supervision experience.Retail construction, remodel, or tenant improvement experience.Experience managing subcontractors and multiple trades.Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications.Strong problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.Commitment to quality and jobsite safety.Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with Project Managers.Willingness and ability to travel nationwide 90%–100%.Valid driver's license and ability to travel by air and vehicle.OSHA 30 certification preferred.Experience with project management or construction field software is a plus.WHAT YOU'LL DOLead all day-to-day site operations.Manage subcontractors and coordinate on-site activities.Maintain safe, organized, and productive jobsites.Deliver projects on schedule while maintaining exceptional quality.Identify and resolve issues before they impact cost or schedule.Work closely with your Project Manager to keep projects on track and within budget.Build strong relationships with clients, landlords, vendors, subcontractors, and project partners.Conduct site meetings, inspections, and quality-control checks.Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and Merchco safety standards.Maintain accurate daily project documentation and reporting.Manage punch lists and support successful project closeout and client handover.Represent Merchco professionally with our clients and their teams.THIS IS A TRAVELING POSITIONTravel is typically 90%–100% nationwide.You'll travel by air and/or vehicle depending on the project. Typical assignments are 4–12 weeks, with time at home approximately every 3–4 weeks.
