Digital Accessibility & Document Remediation Specialist
Job Overview: Seeking an experienced Digital Accessibility & Document Remediation Specialist to remediate documents, PDFs, forms, and digital materials in accordance with Section 504 and WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards.
Key Responsibilities: Remediate Word documents, PDFs, scanned documents, and fillable forms for accessibility. Apply proper headings, reading order, tables, tags, labels, and logical tab order. Correct OCR issues and improve accessibility of scanned/image-based PDFs. Add appropriate alt text and address visual accessibility and color contrast. Perform accessibility checks and basic screen-reader/keyboard testing. Maintain remediation trackers and documentation. Coordinate with vendors regarding VPATs/ACRs, accessibility gaps, and remediation plans.
Qualifications: Hands-on experience with document/PDF accessibility remediation. Strong Microsoft Word and PDF skills. Working knowledge of WCAG 2.1 Level AA and Section 504.Strong organization, documentation, and vendor coordination skills. Experience with accessibility testing tools and assistive technology is preferred.
