About the role
IP Billing CoordinatorFoley & Lardner LLP is currently seeking an IP Billing Coordinator to join our team! The Coordinator is responsible for compiling, managing and executing complex Intellectual Property (IP) attorney billing. In this client facing role, the ideal candidate will prioritize to meet tight deadlines, have a strong attention to detail, and multi-task to process high-volume billing. The Coordinator communicates effectively with attorneys, assistants, and accounting colleagues and accurately maintains records throughout the entire billing cycle.ResponsibilitiesCoordinates and processes billing for principal billing partners to include drafting, editing and preparing pre-bills and final bills per attorney/client specifications and/or guidelines. Edits may include narratives, transfers, write-downs, write-offs, divides, and combinesReviews and verifies accuracy of billing and cost backup documentation, as requiredConfirms rates and any fee arrangements such as flat fee, fixed fee, billed on account (BOA), and on-demand fees, are reflected for each individual matterGenerates and delivers client invoices in the requested formatManages the requirements for clients who use e-billing to ensure billing is completed timely and coordinates with the e-billing department, as appropriateResearches and responds to inquiries regarding billing issues and problemsMonitors the Work In Process (WIP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) inventory for assigned attorneysGenerates billing statements and production reports, as requestedEnsures strict confidentiality at all timesQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferredMinimum of one (1) year of experience billing at an hourly rate for a timekeeper in a law or professional services firm requiredExperience billing for intellectual property (IP) practice requiredExperience with 3E preferredProficiency with Microsoft Excel and OutlookIn support of transparency and equity in the workplace, Foley provides salary ranges for all positions. The figures below represent the full compensation range of this position. The actual offered amount will be between the range minimum and midpoint based on the following factors: education, experience, geographic market, and internal pay equity at Foley.-Orlando and Tampa: $58,100 to $81,300-Chicago, Dallas and Houston: $63,900 to $89,400
