CHICAGO DATA ENGINEERS: I’m hiring a Senior Data Engineer to help build a brand-new Azure Databricks platform from the ground up. This is a full-time direct hire opportunity with a major enterprise organization undergoing a multi-year Data & AI transformation.📍 Chicago, IL🏢 Hybrid: 3 days onsite / 2 days remote💼 Full-Time Direct Hire This is a true hands-on engineering role. Databricks is stood up, but there are no production pipelines yet. You’ll be one of the core engineers building the pipelines, transformations, models and engineering standards that the new platform will run on. I’m looking for:• 6+ years of hands-on Data Engineering experience• Strong Azure Databricks production experience• Advanced Python + SQL + PySpark/Spark• Delta Lake and Unity Catalog• Databricks Workflows/Jobs• End-to-end ETL/ELT pipeline development• Data modeling and schema design• Performance tuning and optimization• CI/CD, Git, automated testing and monitoring• Experience with streaming/CDC is a plus• Greenfield Databricks or legacy data warehouse migration experience is a BIG plus This is not a BI/reporting, Data Architect, AI/LLM or people-management position. They want a senior engineer who is still coding and building every day.⚠️ There will be a live technical assessment covering Python, SQL and practical data-pipeline logic.
