Finance Manager / Controller
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager / Controller to lead the financial and administrative functions of a manufacturing division. This position will oversee Finance, Costing, Payroll, IT, and Office Administration, while serving as a key business partner to senior leadership. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, analytical finance professional with strong manufacturing experience, excellent business acumen, and the ability to translate financial results into actionable business strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee the division's Finance, Costing, Payroll, IT, and Office Clerical functions Prepare and manage weekly cash forecasts and related financial reporting Review and oversee weekly payroll processing Perform hands-on accounting and financial activities as needed to support the business Review monthly financial statement preparation and reporting for accuracy and completeness Analyze financial results and present monthly performance updates to senior management Lead the annual budgeting process and monthly financial reforecasting Provide financial analysis and support for new business development initiatives Review financial data associated with new programs, projects, and business opportunities Oversee capital expenditures, including financial analysis and tracking Participate in the annual update and development of the company's Five-Year Strategic Plan Manage and coordinate annual internal and external audits Support inventory validation programs, including cycle counts and annual physical inventory Oversee risk management, compliance, and internal control activities Conduct an annual review and validation of costing models Mentor, develop, and motivate the finance team to achieve departmental and business objectives Partner with leadership on strategic initiatives and business improvement projects Utilize ERP systems and participate in ERP implementations and process improvements Provide financial guidance and decision support across the organization
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related fieldCPA or CMA designation preferred 1–3+ years of experience as a Controller, Finance Manager, or similar leadership role within a manufacturing environment Strong understanding of accounting, cash management, forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting Experience working with ERP systems, including ERP implementations Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Power Point Strong Microsoft Office and financial systems skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with employees at all organizational levels Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving abilities Excellent decision-making skills, including the ability to gather, evaluate, and interpret information Strong business acumen and the ability to connect financial performance to operational results Strategic thinker with exceptional attention to detail Highly motivated, self-directed, and action-oriented Ability to prioritize competing responsibilities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Strong organizational and follow-up skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
