The Cleaner I (N) position provides dedicated overnight custodial coverage for McMahon Hall, a 24/7 residential facility at the Lincoln Center Campus. The position maintains sanitation and cleanliness across high-traffic residential spaces, including laundry facilities, elevators, common-area restrooms, event venues, and shared lounges. The role also supports waste management, routine floor and carpet maintenance, and building-specific operational requests.
Schedule: Saturday & Sunday: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Monday – Wednesday: 11:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
Essential Functions: Cleans and sanitizes dormitories, common areas, restrooms, laundry rooms, elevators, classrooms, event spaces, offices, and other assigned University spaces. Performs waste collection, removal, recycling, and replacement of waste receptacles as required. Performs routine floor and carpet cleaning and maintenance using appropriate custodial equipment. Cleans and maintains high-use and shared spaces to provide safe and sanitary conditions for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Operates custodial equipment, including floor machines, vacuums, power washers, and other cleaning equipment as assigned. Provides setup, relocation, and other custodial support for University operations and events as needed. Performs snow and ice removal, including shoveling and related winter-weather duties, as required. Essential Functions Note This list is not intended to be an exhaustive list. Required Qualifications: Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED.Six (6) months to one year of prior cleaning experience.
Required Qualifications: Knowledge and SkillsMust be able to read English and follow written instructions. Knowledge of general cleaning techniques and preventative maintenance, including standard use of power washers, stand‑up vacuums, and backpack vacuums. Knowledge of effective and safe usage of all floor machines. Knowledge of handheld tools.
