Remote Senior Electrical Estimator - Commercial & Mission Critical We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Estimator to lead estimating activities for commercial, industrial, and design-build projects. This remote position is responsible for developing accurate, competitive, and profitable estimates while supporting junior estimators and partnering with senior leadership on bidding strategy and business decisions. We are a growing electrical contractor specializing in design-build projects and committed to integrity, teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently while collaborating effectively in a remote environment.
Key Responsibilities: Develop accurate and competitive estimates, takeoffs, and bid proposals for projects ranging from simple to highly complex. Review RFQs, RFPs, drawings, specifications, and bid requirements to evaluate scope, risk, and feasibility. Manage estimating schedules, deadlines, and overall bid processes. Communicate with customers to clarify scope, address discrepancies, negotiate pricing, and maintain strong relationships. Review estimates and takeoffs for accuracy and compliance with project requirements. Prepare scope letters, contractual exhibits, clarifications, exclusions, and supporting bid documentation. Lead internal estimate reviews and participate in project turnover and kickoff meetings. Provide cost analysis, summaries, and recommendations to senior leadership. Participate in job walks as required and identify discrepancies between drawings, specifications, and site conditions. Mentor and train estimators and junior estimators. Track bid results, maintain estimate logs, and follow up with clients. Maintain confidentiality of pricing, estimating data, and company information.
Qualifications: 5–10 years of electrical construction estimating experience. Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations. Experience leading and mentoring estimators. Proficiency with Accubid and Live Count or comparable estimating software. Strong ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and computerized cost data. Proven track record of producing accurate estimates, takeoffs, and proposals. Excellent communication, negotiation, organizational, and time-management skills. Strong understanding of labor rates, material pricing, and current market conditions. Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively in a fully remote environment.
