About the role
Job Duties:
Assist with handling and snubbing bow/stern lines to assist pilots. Walk lines to proper locations along the lock wall. Secure vessel lines to the lock wall. Under direct supervision, operate electrical, electronic, and hydraulic gate controls at one end of the chamber. Learn to operate water control valves safely. Clear ice, logs, and debris from gate paths and recesses. Perform ground maintenance (mowing, snow shoveling, janitorial tasks).Assist maintenance crews with routine repairs. Input vessel times, registration, and direction into logs. Use basic light and horn signals as directed.
