About the role

Interlibrary Loan LeadThe Interlibrary Loan Lead is responsible for managing interlibrary loan Borrowing, assisting interlibrary loan staff with interlibrary loan Lending, and performing additional tasks as needed. The position requires daily interaction with the campus community as well as regular communication with other libraries. Attention to detail and commitment to service are necessary components of this position. This position includes daily supervision of interlibrary loan staff.
Responsibilities: Manage daily workflows and procedures related to the interlibrary loan Borrowing queue including processing borrowed items, determining loan and licensing policies, preparing and tracking shipments, preparing invoices, reporting database and cataloging problems Process Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery requests from Georgia Southern University faculty, staff, and students, and from external domestic and international libraries, including identifying, retrieving, scanning, and delivering library materials Provide welcoming, courteous, and actively engaged customer service, including greeting and communicating with faculty, staff, students, and community patrons in person, or by phone, email, or online chat, to identify and address their service needs Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate staff and/or student workers as needed Provide staffing support to the Access Services desk Cover additional interlibrary loan duties in absence of the ILL librarian or fellow staff
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Experience: Experience working in a library Supervisory experience
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Educational Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Experience:
  • Experience with using ILLiad interlibrary loan management software Three (3) or more years of related work experience
  • Proposed Salary: $17.55 per hour This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
