About the role
CNC Lathe Operator The following are tasks to be performed by the CNC Lathe Operator. The duties are not limited to this list. Any additional requirements, changes, or deletions will be at the discretion of the Machine Shop Assistant Manager(s). To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility and duty satisfactorily. The CNC Lathe Operator is responsible for following prescribed standards of CNC operations, meeting cycle times, promoting on time delivery through their performance efforts, demonstrating knowledge and application of lean manufacturing, promoting teamwork through their behavior, acting in accordance with Altek's Policies and adhering to the goals and expectations as defined by management.
Responsibilities include:
- Following the procedures established in the work instructions or by the Assistant Manager(s) and/or Lead(s)
- Following prescribed standards of CNC Lathe operations
- Paying strong attention to detail, exhibiting critical thinking skills and meeting set cycle times
- Taking an active role in organizing and improving current processes, when necessary, through SWI change suggestions
- Being proactive in maintaining established company policies and manufacturing strategies
- Inspecting product according to Altek's Quality Policies and Procedures
- Building and maintaining positive rapport, communication and behavior with other Altek employees, customers and/or suppliers
- Adapting and modifying as circumstances warrant
- Demonstrating safe work habits
- Embracing Altek's Quality Policy to ensure quality to internal and external customers
- Embracing Altek's vision, core values, and expected behaviors
- Functional responsibilities include:
- Completing end-of-shift tie-in log and accurately entering part and scrap counts into Paperless
Qualifications include:
- High School Diploma or GEDCNC Machining Certificate or minimum of 1 year experience as a Machine Shop Operator
- Ability to accurately read blueprints
- Skilled with portable measuring devices used in the production processes at AltekMust be able to read and comply with work instructions, quality documents, and other pertinent written material
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Quality-conscious attitude and pride of ownership in designated responsibilities
