We are partnering with a growing, privately held investment group that acquires and operates manufacturing and distribution businesses for the long term. We are seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager to support the accounting, financial reporting, and operational performance of businesses within the portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong Senior Accountant looking to take the next step in their career or an Accounting Manager who enjoys being directly involved in the numbers. Unlike a traditional corporate accounting position, this role offers direct exposure to senior leadership, multiple operating businesses, and acquisition activity.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Reporting: Own the monthly close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and management reporting packages. Maintain accurate general ledger records and ensure compliance with accounting policies. Assist with annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and financial planning. Support audits, tax preparation, and internal control improvements.
Manufacturing & Cost Accounting: Analyze inventory, standard costs, and gross margins. Work with bills of material (BOMs), product costing, and manufacturing variances. Evaluate profitability by product, customer, and business unit. Identify opportunities to improve margins, pricing, and operating efficiency. Partner with operational leadership to understand financial performance.
Financial Analysis & Cash Management: Analyze income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements to identify business trends and opportunities. Prepare cash flow forecasts and monitor working capital. Oversee financial analysis related to inventory, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. Support pricing decisions, capital investments, and operational improvement initiatives. Provide meaningful financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
Acquisitions & Business Integration: Participate in financial due diligence for potential acquisitions. Assist with integrating newly acquired businesses into existing accounting and reporting processes. Support financial reporting standardization and ERP improvements across portfolio companies.
