About the role

Position Title Post Doctoral Scholar Department Medicine | Pathology
Position Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated Post Doctoral Scholar to investigate the immunopathogenesis of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), lupus nephritis, and rheumatoid arthritis (RA) through the integrated study of immune cell function and RNA regulatory mechanisms. The successful candidate will combine advanced immunological approaches with genomic and computational analyses to identify RNA-mediated pathways that drive immune dysregulation, kidney inflammation, and tissue injury in autoimmune disease.
Responsibilities: Investigate the roles of T cells and dendritic cells in SLE, lupus nephritis, and RA Define disease-associated immune cell states and molecular pathways using transcriptomic, epigenomic, and spatial omics approaches Integrate computational and experimental approaches to uncover biologically actionable mechanisms and therapeutic targets Identify RNA regulatory networks and RNA-binding protein–mediated mechanisms that control immune cell activation, differentiation, and pathogenic function Perform multi-parameter flow cytometry, intracellular cytokine staining, ELISAs, and T cell–dendritic cell co-culture assays Execute murine autoimmune disease models Assess disease outcomes including proteinuria, renal pathology, joint inflammation, autoantibody production, and immune cell phenotypes Publish findings in high-impact journals, present at scientific meetings, mentor trainees, and contribute to grant applications
Job Requirements: Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field Strong background in immunology, including T cell biology and dendritic cell biology Experience with transcriptomic data analysis, including bulk RNA-seq and/or single-cell RNA-seq Demonstrated research productivity with peer-reviewed publications in immunology, RNA biology, genomics, or autoimmune disease Experience with multi-color flow cytometry, immune phenotyping, and FlowJo analysis Proficiency in immunological assays
Additional Information Location: Tzagournis Medical Research Facility (0163)
Position Type: Term (Fixed Term)
Scheduled Hours: 40
Shift: First Shift Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post offer process.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
