About the role
Bus Drivers Iona Preparatory has an immediate opening for two (2) part-time bus drivers to facilitate morning and afternoon shuttle runs every school day, with opportunities for additional stipended school trips. Drivers will have students to school by 8:10 every morning, and navigate a daily "late bus" that departs the school at 5:15 p.m. Minimum hours are 6 - 8:30 a.m. and 5 - 7:30 p.m. and Iona Prep shuttle bus operators are responsible for: Regularly inspecting and refueling the bus, reporting any inconsistencies to the Director of Transportation. Maintaining the daily service log for all buses driven. Retrieving and returning bus keys to the appropriate lockbox each day. Creating a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for students that is an extension of the Iona Prep brotherhood. Enforcing all policies and procedures pursuant to the Parent-Student Handbook, and reporting infractions and any incidents to the Dean of Students. Acting as an ambassador for the school at all times. Performing other reasonable duties as assigned by the Director of Transportation. This position reports to the Director of Transportation.
Requirements:
A New York State Commercial Driver License (CDL) license with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements is required. A clean driving record is expected.
