About the role

Position Summary: The position is responsible for assisting with the Plastics Division's Packaging Team by managing office procedures, processing contracts and invoices, meeting planning and scheduling as well as coordinating staff- and member-facing communications, social media, and assisting with policy and advocacy projects The position reports directly to the Director, Plastics Sustainability Policy. Major Duties and Responsibilities Primarily supports the Packaging Team staff and members by organizing team documents, planning meetings, tracking budgets, processing contracts, scheduling, project management, and invoices, surveying members and assisting the development of outreach materials on sustainability and policy related projects. Supports the management and oversight of budget and accounting as liaison to the Finance and Accounting department. Includes processing of check requisitions/invoices, monitoring budget and accounting statements, and maintaining contract files. Serves as the point of contact with vendors to determine contract scope, payment schedule, and contract tracking and deliverables. Monitors expense and revenue reports in accordance with approved budget. Coordinates external and internal newsletters, member communications, and supports other advocacy and policy activities. Maintains updated membership information, conducts member surveys, and prepares and transmits correspondence, agendas, meeting records and briefing materials for meetings. Prepares presentations, reports, spreadsheets and documents using a variety of computer applications. Schedules ACC Packaging Team meetings and assists Packaging Team staff lead with calendar and travel coordination. Assists Packaging Team staff on policy or research projects as available. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Required Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Two years related experience with business, trade, government, political or policy advocacy organization. A self-starter with the ability to work independently on a variety of projects and prioritize multiple issues, projects, and information requests.
  • Interest in sustainability and the environment, with a desire to grow and learn.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Experience with Internet research tools and social media.
  • Working knowledge and demonstrated ability to work effectively in Microsoft Office applications, including Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access. Preferred
  • Trade association, business, or professional office management experience.
  • Accounting and budget experience.
