CLA Search has been exclusively retained by Anchor Pacifica, a growing Pasadena real estate investment and property management company, to identify a Human Resources Manager to join their team. Founded in 1992, Anchor Pacifica is a privately held real estate investment and property management firm headquartered in Pasadena, California. the company owns and operates approximately 30 properties across Los Angeles, Orange, and San Bernardino Counties, including residential, senior living, self-storage, and commercial assets. As a long-term owner-operator, Anchor Pacifica is focused on operational stability, disciplined financial management, and hands-on leadership. They are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to serve as the primary HR resource for employees and leadership throughout the organization. This hands-on, individual contributor role oversees the full employee lifecycle, payroll administration, HR compliance, and day-to-day support for both corporate and field teams. The ideal candidate is organized, responsive, and solutions-oriented, with strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of the company.
What You’ll Do: Serve as the primary HR resource for employees and managers, providing guidance on policies, procedures, and workplace matters. Process accurate biweekly payroll through iSolved and maintain employee and payroll records. Lead recruiting, onboarding, orientation, training coordination, and employee lifecycle administration. Administer employee benefits, including broker relationships, open enrollment, employee communications, and the 401(k) program. Manage employee relations matters, including investigations, performance management, corrective actions, and separations. Coordinate workers' compensation claims and partner with insurance providers and outside counsel as needed. Maintain HR policies, personnel files, employee handbook, and compliance with employment and insurance regulations. Oversee the annual performance review and compensation planning process. Support employee engagement initiatives and company culture programs.
What You’ll Need: Proven experience independently managing multiple areas of Human Resources in a hands-on environment. Experience with payroll processing and HR/payroll systems; iSolved experience strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of employee relations, benefits administration, workers' compensation, HR documentation, and employment law compliance. Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, discretion, and follow-through. Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to work effectively across corporate and field-based teams. Comfortable managing changing priorities in a fast-paced, responsive environment. Interest in taking on broader operational responsibilities and contributing beyond traditional HR functions. Bilingual communication skills are strongly preferred. Real estate, property management, or multi-site operations experience is a plus. Relevant HR certifications or credentials are preferred; a bachelor's degree is not required.
