About the role
- Investigate power consumption, battery life, thermal performance, and power-state behavior
- Work directly with Qualcomm-based embedded platforms
- Perform power measurements using oscilloscopes, power analyzers, current probes, Monsoon, NI DAQ, and related equipment
- Debug issues across hardware, PMICs, firmware, Linux, drivers, and Android
- Build power models, validate battery-life estimates, and optimize performance-per-watt
- Partner with hardware, firmware, system software, and validation teams to solve complex platform issues
- 8+ years of embedded systems experience
- Strong electrical engineering test and debug background
- Experience with power characterization, battery analysis, and thermal investigations
- Deep understanding of Qualcomm SoCs and PMIC architecture
- Embedded Linux experience
- Android power management experience
- Ability to root-cause issues across hardware and software boundaries
- Strong C/C++ skills preferred
- Root-cause analysis and data-driven troubleshooting
