Company Cell Phone or Cell Phone Reimbursement Company Laptop Comprehensive Benefits Package Professional Development and Leadership Growth Opportunities Project Design/BIM Lead is a senior design position responsible for VDC leadership on assigned EAS projects to meet project scope of work and schedule requirements. This position is responsible for managing the work of assigned support designers/outside resources and checking their work to meet project needs
Essential Functions:
  • For project or division of project assigned -○ Review all project documents (contract drawings and specifications) before the job starts. Create a project information sheet highlighting main project requirements and items not to be missed. This document is to be shared with all support designers assigned to the team.○ Give input to BIM/VDC PM regarding establishing scheduled milestones and tasks. Also give input to maintain a 3 week look-ahead and a deliverables schedule.
  • Assign tasks with the BIM/VDC Project Manager and design department manager to support designers and outside resources assigned to the team.
  • Lead BIM for project maintaining Navis model for the project for EAS and take care of internal clash detection for the assigned team. If required by project, the lead will also maintain a model for the project, perform and distribute clash reports to trades, and lead BIM/Coordination meetings with all trades.
  • Add additional views, filters, and sheets to Revit models as needed.
  • Update views, filters, and sheets to Revit models as needed.
  • Set up an internal Navisworks NWF fi le. Ensure CAD / Revit fi les created are appended with official models for other trades, column grid is set up, viewpoints are created (3D View, Section for each floor, etc.), appearance profiler is set up, clashes defined, etc.
  • Lead and work with 3rd Party resources outside EAS when needed.
  • Perform all roles required of a support. designer as needed. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE
  • Track progress of Project leads, support designers and 3rd party resources assigned to the team for assigned projects to inform Construction Design leadership and project manager of potential issues coming up so issues can be worked out ahead of time before they are a schedule or construction issue.
  • Send notices to EAS project team members when information or tasks they owe design are getting ready to impact design and construction schedules
  • Work closely with the BIM/VDC Project Manager.
  • Provide information to the document coordinator to log, distribute, and track RFI’s. Notify document coordinator when RFIs must be answered in order not to impact schedule.
  • Provide all fi les and information to Mech designers and 3rd party resources assigned that they need to complete their tasks.
  • All responsibilities associated with a support designer to support work and get fi nal deliverables submitted.
  • Review support designer’s and outside resources work prior to releasing
  • Other tasks as assigned.
WHAT WILL CATCH OUR EYES:
  • Revit 2024 or newer
  • Bluebeam
  • Navisworks 2024 or newer
  • AutoCAD (helpful)
  • MS Office (Word, Excel)/Google (Docs, Sheets)
  • Experience leading a collaborative team.
  • Proficient with Google Meet and MS Team
  • Proficient with email (Gmail) and calendars.
  • Proficient with Autodesk Construction Cloud/Forma and its modules Interpersonal
  • Be able to interact collaboratively with Field Operations Teams, Prefab Manager, Design Support Coordinator, and assigned designers on a daily basis.
  • Be able to lead and encourage assigned design teams to meet project schedules and goals.
  • Be able to give helpful feedback to assigned project designers and BIM/VDC project leads to improve their skills and quality to improve project outcome. Physical Demands
  • Be able to walk distances to review ongoing work at project sites and EAS facilities.
  • Able to stand and walk as needed to observe the project under construction.
  • Able to climb ladders or stairs as needed to observe the project under construction.
  • Lift 50lbs
