About the role
- Hold a current Doctor of Optometry degree and an active New York optometry license, enabling you to provide high-quality patient care independently.
- Bring strong expertise in comprehensive eye exams, refraction, eye care diagnosis and visual acuity assessment.
- Are comfortable identifying and managing common ocular disease presentations while recognizing when an ophthalmology referral is appropriate.
- Communicate with empathy and professionalism, helping patients feel informed, respected and confident in their care decisions.
- Take a detail-oriented, patient-first approach and work effectively with a collaborative, in-person practice team.
- Preferred Clinical Experience:
- Experience with contact lenses, visual fields, optical coherence tomography, cataract evaluations, vision therapy, low vision or patient recall programs is valued.
- Familiarity with pretesting workflows and an optical retail setting will help you contribute quickly to an efficient patient journey.
