Physician Assistant— Cardiothoracic Surgery Full-Time | 4x 10s, Weekdays | Rotating Call | Naples, FL This is a first-assist surgical Physician Assistant role inside a busy, full-service cardiothoracic program in Naples, Florida. You will be in the OR for CABG, valve procedures, aortic surgery, TAVR/TAVI, lung resection, esophageal surgery, and more, then following your patients through the post-op ICU. Benefits and Compensation Competitive salary based on experience: $179, 000 - $252,000 /yr Sign-on bonus available Relocation assistance available Annual quality and CME bonuses Additional compensation for call and call-back surgeries 4x 10 schedule, Monday through Friday Rotating call, rotating weekends, rotating holidays Malpractice and tail coverage included Generous PTO with a pathway to unlimited PTO CME allowance Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage 401(k) with retirement planning support Life insurance, AD&D, and disability coverage Employee assistance programs Tuition reimbursement for continued education Optional supplemental benefits Qualifications Required: Active PA-C/NCCPA certification DEA registration Current BLS and ACLS certification Minimum 2 years of CT surgery experience Vein harvesting experience (required) Demonstrated surgical exposure across: CABG/bypass, valve repair and replacement, aortic surgery, TAVR/TAVI, lung resection, esophageal surgery, first-assist in OR, post-op ICU management, and chest tube management Completion of an accredited Advanced Practice Provider program Board certification in area of specialty (board-eligible candidates considered with commitment to obtain certification within 6 months of hire)
Preferred: LVAD/MCS experience Epic EMR proficiency Responsibilities First-assist in cardiothoracic surgical cases including CABG, valve repair and replacement, aortic surgery, TAVR/TAVI, lung resection, and esophageal surgery Perform vein harvesting independently Manage post-operative patients in the ICU, including chest tube management and hemodynamic support Take rotating call coverage Collaborate with the surgical team and interdisciplinary staff to develop and implement patient care plans Deliver direct patient care under approved protocols with physician supervision Document patient care accurately in Epic and maintain compliance with clinical and regulatory standards Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, patients, and families Participate in quality improvement, performance evaluation, and continuing education activities Contribute to policy development and clinical program growth as the department expands Background Screening Requirement (Florida): This position requires background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse in accordance with Florida law (Section 435.12).
