The Department of Geology within the School of Earth and Environment and College of Science and Mathematics seeks qualified candidates to teach 100-level introductory and gateway geology courses including Physical Geology, Earth Through Time, Earthquakes and Volcanoes, and Dinosaurs and Their World.
Applicants must have at least an MS or higher degree in Geology or related science and a Bachelor’s degree in Geology or a related field.
Rowan University is a Carnegie‑classified Doctoral University (Moderate Research Activity) with approximately 25,000 students. Its main campus is located in Glassboro, N.J., 20‑miles southeast of Philadelphia. Philadelphia International Airport is 30 minutes away, and New York and Washington, DC are easily accessible by train from 30th Street Station. The Jean & Ric Edelman Fossil Park (www.rowan.edu/fossils), located only 4 miles from campus, is closely associated with the School of Earth & Environment and provides unique teaching resources to faculty members and students. Rowan’s main campus is located on the Atlantic Coastal Plain, which exposes Holocene through Cretaceous outcrops, including a K/Pg section at the quarry. The Piedmont and Appalachian provinces are 20 minutes and 1 hour away, respectively. The Atlantic coast and the Delaware Bay estuary are within an hour’s drive.

In compliance with The State of New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, and in accordance with the current MOA, Rowan University adjuncts are provided with a minimum of $2,225 per credit for all courses taught, with a maximum teaching load of 8 credits per semester and 12 credits in an academic year. Courses will be assigned to instructors by College & Department on an as‑needed basis.

Residency Requirements
Rowan University is subject to the residency requirements of the NJ First Act (N.J.S.A. 52:14-7, P.L. 2011, Chapter 70). Any person hired to a non‑exempt position shall either have their principal residence in New Jersey or have one (1) year from the date of employment to establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey. Any person hired to an exempt position shall either have their principal residence in New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, or NewYork or have ninety (90) days from the date of employment to establish, then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, or NewYork.

The report also contains information about fire statistics in Rowan University on-campus student housing facilities and crime statistics for the three previous calendar years, including reported crimes that occurred on-campus; in certain off‑campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. This information is required by federal law, Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act or the "Clery Act" and is provided by the Rowan University Police Department.
