The Company: Our client is a growing financial technology and commercial lending platform that provides working capital solutions to small and medium-sized businesses across the United States. Through a range of financing products, the company helps business owners manage cash flow, fund growth initiatives, purchase inventory, and support day-to-day operations.
The Opportunity: The company is seeking a Head of Collections to lead collections, recoveries, and portfolio servicing across its lending business. This individual will be responsible for driving collection performance, building scalable processes, managing team leaders, and improving recovery outcomes across the portfolio.
Responsibilities: • Lead collections and recovery strategy across the portfolio.• Manage and develop collections managers and team members.• Monitor delinquency trends, recoveries, and portfolio performance.• Oversee legal recoveries, external agencies, and vendor relationships.• Partner with Risk, Finance, Legal, and Operations teams.• Develop reporting, KPIs, and performance management frameworks.• Identify opportunities to improve processes, workflows, and recoveries.
Requirements: • 8+ years of collections, recoveries, servicing, or commercial lending experience.• Leadership experience managing collections teams and managers.• Background in SMB lending, specialty finance, commercial lending, or working capital products.• Experience improving collections performance and recovery outcomes.• Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills.• Experience with legal recoveries and third-party agencies preferred. Ideal Background Candidates may come from SMB lenders, working capital providers, specialty finance businesses, merchant financing companies, fintech lenders, commercial finance firms, or similar lending environments.
