About the role
Job Duties:
HelpEstablish and maintain custody of service treatment and outpatient medical records.
Interview and in-process new patients, obtaining necessary identifying data for preparation of medical record and prepare required contents.
Perform dependent records retirement quarterly to annually by separating, screening, selecting, assembling, packing, and preparing records for shipment to the National Personnel Records Center.
Authorize the release of records only to those who have a valid need to review them.
Receive and direct telephone calls and visitors.
Compose and type correspondence including letters of transmittal, requests for medical records, letters furnishing medical information, and other correspondence concerning the disposition of patients and their medical records.
Direct patients to various hospital clinics, administrative departments, laboratory, X-ray site and etc.
Scan appropriate documents into the patient's electronic medical record.
