Position Title: Field Service Engineer (CNC)
Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer with a strong background in CNC maintenance and service to support installation, troubleshooting, and repair of advanced manufacturing equipment. This role requires a self-directed professional who is comfortable working on-site at customer facilities and traveling for extended periods (up to one week at a time).
Key Responsibilities: Perform installation, commissioning, and start-up of CNC machinery at customer sites Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system issues on CNC equipment Conduct preventive maintenance and system performance evaluations Provide technical support and training to customers on proper machine operation and maintenance Troubleshoot CNC control systems, including Fanuc and/or Siemens platforms Interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation Document service activities, maintain accurate records, and submit detailed service reports Collaborate with internal engineering and support teams to resolve complex technical issues Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures at all times
Required Qualifications: Minimum of 6+ years of hands-on CNC maintenance and service experience Strong expertise with Fanuc and/or Siemens CNC control systems Solid understanding of electrical systems, PLCs, drives, and servo motors Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Strong communication and customer service abilities Willingness and ability to travel up to 80%, including trips lasting up to one week at a time Valid driver’s license and passport (or ability to obtain one)
Preferred Qualifications: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field Experience working with multi-axis CNC machines (mills, lathes, machining centers)Familiarity with additional control systems or industrial automation platforms Previous field service experience in a customer-facing role Work Environment &
Physical Requirements: Frequent travel to customer sites, including industrial manufacturing environments Ability to stand, bend, lift, and work in confined spaces as needed Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
