About the role
Senior Data Operations Analyst — Contract
Location:
Los Angeles, CA (on-site preferred) or NYC (secondary) | Hours: 9–6 PM local Contract engagement
About the Role:
Our client, a major entertainment/media company, maintains a centralized platform for global content and campaign planning — the system of record senior leaders across marketing, publicity, and programming rely on to make scheduling, campaign, and resourcing decisions. This role exists to protect the integrity of that dataset: capturing information at the source, confirming it with accountable owners, and maintaining it to a defined standard. You'll be embedded in the weekly rhythm of several stakeholder teams — attending meetings, capturing decisions and data points, and turning unstructured input into clean, structured, trusted data. Over time you'll be one of the few people who sees the dataset and workflow end-to-end, putting you in a unique position to spot conflicts, surface friction, and recommend improvements. This is a highly visible, largely self-directed role suited to someone who's proactive, curious about the business behind the data, and comfortable operating in a process that's still being built.
Responsibilities:
Attend recurring stakeholder meetings and capture decisions, data points, action items, and open questions Confirm data directly with accountable business leaders before entry Enter and maintain records accurately within established turnaround expectations Handle confidential and pre-release information with discretion, including embargoed titles, unannounced projects, and internal timelines Triage in-the-moment stakeholder requests — what can be entered directly vs. what needs confirmation Come to weekly alignment prepared with the state of your work Identify and escalate data conflicts, stale records, and process friction Maintain a running observations log with recommendations on data health and cross-team patterns Provide direct feedback on the workflow itself to inform ongoing process design
Required Qualifications:
4+ years in a data analyst, internal research, business operations, or reporting role Entertainment or media industry background: content slates, production and release timelines, title-level data Demonstrated ability to turn unstructured input (meetings, conversations, documents) into structured, reliable data Proven track record handling confidential or pre-release information professionally Strong stakeholder management — comfortable working with senior leaders, managing competing inputs, and holding your ground on data accuracy Comfort with low-code/no-code tooling and relational data concepts (tables, linked records, formulas, views)Strong Excel/Sheets skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas)Excellent written communication — clear notes, status updates, and escalations
Nice to Have:
Airtable experience (formulas, views, interfaces)Marketing data experience (campaign planning, media, creative operations)
Note:
This is a contract-by-design engagement — as workflows mature and automation is layered in, the role is expected to resolve rather than convert to permanent headcount.
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
