About the role
Loss Prevention Specialist Help Members Find Solutions. Help Protect UFCU's Assets. United Federal Credit Union is seeking a Loss Prevention Specialist with experience in mortgage collections, loss mitigation, foreclosure, bankruptcy, or default servicing. In this role, you'll work directly with members experiencing financial hardship, helping them navigate repayment options while protecting the credit union's collateral and minimizing losses. Primary responsibilities include managing delinquent mortgage loans through the collections lifecycle, negotiating payment arrangements, supporting foreclosure and bankruptcy proceedings, and partnering with attorneys, courts, and other third parties to achieve positive resolutions.
What You'll Do:
Manage delinquent mortgage accounts. Contact borrowers to discuss delinquency causes and develop repayment solutions. Negotiate payment arrangements, settlement agreements, and workout options. Coordinate foreclosure, bankruptcy, probate, and loss mitigation activities. Work closely with attorneys, trustees, courts, and vendors. Maintain accurate documentation, reporting, and account records. Support recovery efforts and identify opportunities to reduce loan losses.
What You'll Bring:
Experience in mortgage collections, mortgage servicing, default servicing, foreclosure, bankruptcy, or loss mitigation. Knowledge of mortgage lending regulations and servicing practices. Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to handle difficult conversations with professionalism and empathy. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
