Role Description:
This is a remote Data Strategist role focused on the buy-side of CP Capital's business — helping hedge fund and investment manager clients source, evaluate, and negotiate for alternative and traditional data. You'll develop data sourcing strategies, run vendor evaluations, lead negotiations, and manage day-to-day relationships with our buy-side clients.
Qualifications:
Strong data strategy and sourcing skills Experience with alternative data for hedge funds — as a buyer or seller — is required. We're hiring for the buy-side team, so prior buy-side experience is a plus, but we're equally open to strong vendor/sell-side candidates looking to move to the buy side.2–3 years of experience in the financial or data industry is REQUIRED. Applicants who do not have experience working with hedge funds, or at hedge funds, will be rejected. This is a role in Data SOURCING and STRATEGY — there is no Data Science component General understanding of financial markets and how data translates into investment value (e.g., alpha generation, risk management, portfolio construction) is highly preferred Multiple asset classes of data experience is a plus Bachelor's degree in some finance-related field is a plus
