About the role

EVONA is partnering with an RF and microwave hardware manufacturer supporting defense, aerospace, unmanned systems, and space applications. We’re seeking a Senior Engineering Technician to support new product development through hands-on RF testing, evaluation, and troubleshooting. You’ll work alongside engineers to verify amplifier performance, support prototype builds, and develop repeatable test procedures.
What you’ll do:
  • Set up and operate network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and RF power meters.
  • Test new RF amplifiers and circuits, verifying performance against engineering requirements.
  • Support microwave tuning, using measurements to guide circuit adjustments.
  • Investigate component and test issues, escalating complex problems to engineers.
  • Support prototype circuit builds, engineering test fixtures, and RF transistor characterization.
  • Create and maintain test procedures, documentation, and results within the quality management system.
  • Collaborate with engineering, assembly, and production teams to resolve issues and meet delivery deadlines.
  • Required experience and skills
  • Three or more years of relevant electronics or RF testing experience.
  • Hands-on experience operating RF test and measurement equipment.
  • Experience working in a production or hardware design environment.
  • Practical understanding of electronics, AC circuits, and RF measurements.
  • Ability to follow test procedures, interpret results, and clearly communicate technical issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Availability to work onsite in East Brunswick, NJ, five days per week.
  • Preferred experience
  • Testing RF power amplifiers or similar circuits.
  • Microwave tuning and circuit adjustment experience—training can be provided.
  • Component-level troubleshooting and prototype development.
  • Understanding of amplifier architecture and measurements such as error vector magnitude (EVM), signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), and third-order intercept point (IP3).Familiarity with Altium.
  • An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Relevant practical knowledge is valued over degree background.
