Milton Hershey School is seeking a service-oriented and detail-focused Part-time Library Resource Center Assistant (LRCA) to help create a welcoming, engaging, and resource-rich learning environment for high school students and staff. This position combines library services, collection management, curriculum support, and student engagement to ensure resources are accessible, organized, and aligned with academic needs. Through daily interactions with students and staff, the LRCA helps foster a culture of reading, curiosity, and lifelong learning. Key responsibilities include managing circulation services, supporting classroom instruction and research initiatives, maintaining library collections and databases, coordinating interlibrary loans, and supervising student workers. By connecting students with the information and resources they need to succeed, the LRCA contributes directly to student achievement and the mission of MHS.This is an on-site, year-round position working up to 29 hours a week, Monday - Friday during school hours. The role compensates an hourly rate between $22.91 to $30.59, depending upon years of experience. The LRCA plays a vital role in supporting student learning, literacy, and research.
Qualifications:
Associate degree required.
Minimum of three years of related experience supporting research and literacy in a library, educational, customer service, or information resource environment.
Experience working with library databases, catalogs, or library management systems such as Destiney, Library Manager or similar integrated library systems.
Knowledgeable of cataloging practices and MARC records.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy.
Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills. Must demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all staff are role models for students.
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team. Eager to actively engage with students.
