Are you an experienced Ophthalmic Assistant looking to join a growing, patient-focused ophthalmology practice? We are partnering with a leading specialty healthcare organization to identify skilled Ophthalmic Assistants for several Contract-to-Hire opportunities throughout the Charlotte market. What You'll Do: Greet and room patients while obtaining vision history and chief complaints Document medical history, medications, allergies, and patient information in the EMRPerform ophthalmic testing including: Visual acuity Tonometry Refraction Visual fields Keratometry Pachymetry Ocular motility testing Lensometry And other diagnostic testing as needed Complete specialty testing such as OCT, topography, Pentacam, visual fields, and biometry Assist providers with exams, treatments, and in-office procedures Serve as a medical scribe when needed Educate patients and answer questions regarding care plans Schedule appointments, procedures, and surgeries Maintain accurate documentation and manage EMR work queues Support efficient patient flow in a fast-paced clinical environment
What We're Looking For
Required: High School Diploma or GEDMinimum 6 months of Ophthalmology or Optometry experience Strong patient-facing communication skills Comfortable working in a high-volume clinical setting Ability to travel between clinic locations as needed Strong computer and EMR skills
Preferred: Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA)Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT)Epic experienceBLS certification Schedule Monday-Friday Shifts scheduled between 7:30 AM and 5:00 PMNo weekends Why Consider This Opportunity?
