About the role
Position Summary:
Our client is a long time commercial development and construction firm with decades of building in the Triangle and looking to hire a Commercial Project Manager to oversee multiple commercial construction projects ranging from $1M–$15M. This role is responsible for managing projects from project award through closeout, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with company quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate is highly organized, communicates effectively with both field and office teams, and can support preconstruction efforts when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage multiple commercial construction projects simultaneously, from award through closeout.
Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, and forecasts.
Lead subcontractor procurement, contract administration, and scope coordination.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
Monitor project financial performance, including cost tracking, change management, projections, and billing.
Ensure compliance with contract documents, drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
Collaborate closely with Superintendents to align field execution with project plans.
Identify and mitigate risks related to schedule, cost, and constructability.
Support preconstruction efforts, including budgeting, bid reviews, and scope analysis.
Maintain accurate and organized project documentation.
Uphold company safety standards and promote a culture of accountability and quality.
Qualifications3–7+ years of experience in commercial construction project management or related role.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
Strong understanding of construction processes, contracts, and project financials.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
Ability to problem-solve and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Procore and Bluebeam.
Familiarity with multiple project types.
Background supporting preconstruction, estimating, or budgeting efforts.
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred but not required).
