We are seeking a Senior Signal & Power Integrity Engineer to work in a dynamic, cross-functional environment focused on optimizing ASIC, package, and PCB designs for mixed-signal circuits. The engineer will own Signal Integrity (SI) and Power Integrity (PI) throughout the complete hardware development lifecycle, working at the intersection of electrical, mechanical, thermal, and RF engineering. As part of a cryogenic hardware team, this role will support the development of advanced technologies operating in challenging environments. The position will focus on SI/PI design and analysis for ICs, advanced packages, substrates, interposers, redistribution layers (RDL), PCBs, connectors, and cables. Responsibilities will span silicon architecture, IP evaluation, package performance, interconnect stack-up selection and characterization, channel and PDN architecture, and PCB layout optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
Own the Signal Integrity and Power Integrity requirements for cryogenic ASICs, packages, PCBs, connectors, and cables.
Model and simulate end-to-end high-speed channels, including transceivers, IC packages, PCBs, cross-board connectors, and cables.
Perform time-domain and frequency-domain SI/PI analysis using SPICE and full-wave electromagnetic simulation methodologies.
Analyze link quality, including insertion loss, return loss/reflection, crosstalk, impedance, and other signal degradation mechanisms.
Identify and resolve SI issues across transition structures, including die bumps, package BGA, PCB, connectors, and cables.
Perform Power Delivery Network (PDN) analysis and optimization.
Interpret simulation results and provide design guidelines for PCB materials, stack-up, transmission-line routing, component placement, and layout optimization.
Define best practices, simulation workflows, test methodologies, signoff criteria, and lab equipment requirements for SI/PI.Evaluate package and interconnect performance and support advanced packaging architectures.
Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including ASIC designers, electrical engineers, package engineers, PCB designers, and hardware measurement engineers, to optimize overall system performance.
Support SI/PI debugging, root-cause analysis, and hardware validation.
