Title: Electronic Engr 1 - Telecom Location: Vancouver, WA (Hybrid)
Duration: 12-month Contract (with possible extensions up to 5 years)
Pay Range: $41.01 - $46.25 per hour The Electronics Engineer provides engineering expertise in the design, analysis, implementation, and support of complex communications and infrastructure systems. Working closely with project managers, engineers, technical specialists, operations personnel, and cross-functional teams, this role develops and delivers innovative technical solutions that support critical communications networks, monitoring systems, power systems, and related technologies. Responsibilities include system design, engineering analysis, equipment evaluation, project scoping, technical documentation, testing, troubleshooting, and field support throughout the project lifecycle. The Electronics Engineer collaborates across multiple engineering disciplines to support system upgrades, new installations, and modernization initiatives while ensuring adherence to technical standards, quality requirements, and operational objectives. Success in this role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in both office and field environments. This position plays a key role in enhancing system reliability, supporting infrastructure improvements, and delivering engineering solutions that contribute to long-term organizational success. Position Responsibilities Develop telecommunications system designs, detailed drawings, bills of materials, and statements of work (SOWs) based on project requirements, technical specifications, and engineering analysis. Conduct technical studies, evaluate system requirements, and document findings to support project planning and decision-making. Collaborate with engineers, project managers, stakeholders, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to define project scope, requirements, and technical solutions. Research, evaluate, and test telecommunications equipment and technologies to support system design and implementation. Assist with developing technical specifications, procurement requirements, and installation standards for communications infrastructure projects. Prepare comprehensive design packages, installation documentation, equipment configurations, testing procedures, and project deliverables. Provide technical recommendations regarding system design options, equipment selection, compliance requirements, and cost considerations. Support project execution by coordinating materials, equipment, schedules, and technical requirements with project teams and stakeholders. Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting activities to ensure successful system implementation. Maintain accurate project records, technical documentation, and engineering files in accordance with established quality, security, compliance, and information management standards. Position Requirements: Education & Corresponding Experience A bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in Electronic or Telecommunications Engineering, is required. Candidates 3 months from graduation will be considered. Proof of degree may be requested after graduation. (Request attestation from supplier confirming degree was obtained) 6 months of experience in Telecommunications Engineering or closely related field is required. Must have knowledge of engineering concepts, principles and practices applicable to components and facilities found on a regional transmission system.
Required: Technical Skills & Experience Skill in oral and written communication to effectively fulfill client/customer/team requirements.
Preferred: Skills & Experience Experience or knowledge regarding preliminary engineering, design, and construction of telecommunications or network engineering projects in a utility environment. Experience or knowledge regarding the review and evaluation of design packages (including drawings, material certifications and submittals for conformance to the design specifications). Knowledge of backbone infrastructure connectivity including microwave radio and fiber optic telecommunications systems.
