We continually expand our Earth and Space Sciences support capabilities to NASA, NOAA, DoD, and other Federal and State agencies. Our staff support many of the operational missions that monitor the heartbeat of our planet through a growing number of Earth Observing System of Systems platforms and direct field research. We also research and investigate leading-edge observing technologies and assist in their integration into operations.

STC is seeking an Advanced Cryptography Research Scientist to support the NIST Cryptographic Technology Group in Gaithersburg, MD. You will support NIST's Multi-Party Threshold Cryptography and Privacy Enhancing Cryptography projects, developing standards guidance and reference materials for threshold schemes, multi-party computation, fully homomorphic encryption, and zero-knowledge proofs.
Responsibilities:
Specific duties will include:
Support the NIST Call for Multi-Party Threshold Schemes, including reviewing and publishing submissions and writing characterization reports
Coordinate project meetings and host invited talks and seminars by external researchers
Produce technical reports and recommendations, and help review and revise NIST cryptography standards and guidelines
Prepare presentations, maintain project webpages, and attend external conferences to disseminate results

Job Requirements:
Doctoral degree, or equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related field
At least 5 years of cryptography research experience with solid publications in cryptography, security, and privacy
Knowledge of secure multi-party computation, zero-knowledge proofs, and the NISTIR 8214 and 8213 series
Experience organizing public virtual events and giving public talks
Desired Experience:
Fully homomorphic encryption, private set intersection, post-quantum cryptography, and standards development.
