Typesetter
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Typesetter to join our publishing team in Washington. As a Typesetter, you will be responsible for formatting and preparing text and images for print or digital publication. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong technical skills, and the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
Format and layout text and images according to design specifications and style guidelines
Collaborate with editors, designers, and other team members to ensure accuracy and consistency in all published materials
Proofread content for spelling, grammar, and formatting errors
Use software programs such as Adobe InDesign or QuarkXPress to create page layouts
Ensure that all materials are properly prepared for printing or digital distribution
Troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise during the production process
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or a related field preferred
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Typesetter or in a similar role
Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, QuarkXPress, and other publishing software programs
Strong understanding of typography, layout design, and print production processes
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work efficiently under pressure
Experience working with multiple languages is a plus
Salary
Starting salary for this position is 1500$ per month.
Location
This position is based in Washington but we welcome candidates from all nationalities. Relocation assistance may be provided for the right candidate.
