Carpenter Co has an immediate opening on 1st shift for an Operator B in our Laminated Mattress Department at our Lakeland, FL manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for producing specific products for external customers in an efficient, safe and productive environment meeting the demands established by a daily production schedule and customer specifications. The hourly starting pay rates for this position is $17.90 per hour. This position works in a normal production environment with exposure to temperature changes and noise. Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence. As the successful candidate, you will be expected to maintain daily communications with Department Manager and other employees in the department. Major responsibilities involve producing products with varying cutting instructions based production requirements. Your additional responsibilities as an Operator B LMATT will include: Must be able to read and understand the product labeling process. Must maintain a neat, orderly, and safe work environment. Must learn the different types of mattresses produced and the configuration of each. Must be able to build mattresses in an efficient manner. Conducts quality checks of all material to meet customer specifications. Maintain a neat, orderly and safe work environment. Performing quality check processes by measuring material and ensuring that it matches the specification on each label. Wrap, seal and label foam according to customer specifications and customer quantities. Skills and requirements: High School Diploma or GED required. Must be able to read and interpret a tape measure. One year of assembly experience preferred. Must be able to use computerized equipment in day to day operations and have computer knowledge. Must be able to lift mattresses in a team with other operators, up to 70 pounds the entire production shift. Ability to work flexible hours and overtime. The Operator B rate of pay starts at $17.90 per hour.
