Position Summary:
CRA is seeking a motivated Lighting Sales Representative to grow our lighting division by generating new business and developing lasting relationships with homeowners, builders, contractors, and commercial customers. This is a field-based, commission-only sales position for someone who is comfortable prospecting, managing leads, conducting property consultations, preparing proposals, and guiding customers through the sales process. The representative will sell outdoor and low-voltage lighting solutions for residential and commercial projects. Compensation This position is compensated exclusively through commissions, with no base salary or guaranteed draw. Retail lighting sales: 7% commission Commercial lighting sales: 5% commission National accounts: Commission rate established by CRA at the time of bidding All commissions are earned and paid in accordance with CRA’s Employee Commission Agreement.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop new residential and commercial lighting sales opportunities. Build relationships with homeowners, builders, contractors, property managers, landscape professionals, and other referral partners. Conduct on-site consultations to understand customers’ lighting needs, preferences, and budgets. Recommend lighting solutions that enhance the appearance, functionality, safety, and value of each property. Prepare and present accurate proposals, estimates, and project recommendations. Maintain consistent follow-up with prospective and existing customers throughout the sales process. Coordinate with the installation and operations teams to support an effective transition from sale to installation. Maintain communication with customers before, during, and after project completion. Identify opportunities for referrals, repeat business, upgrades, and additional services. Record customer activity, leads, proposals, and sales information accurately in the Company’s CRM system. Maintain an organized sales pipeline and participate in sales meetings and reporting. Attend networking events, trade shows, builder events, and other Company-designated business-development activities. Monitor local market activity, customer trends, and potential areas for business growth. Professionally represent CRA and American Lightscapes while demonstrating integrity, responsiveness, and positive energy. Maintain assigned Company equipment and keep the Company vehicle clean and in good condition. Perform other related duties as assigned based on business needs.
Qualifications:
Previous sales experience is preferred; experience in outdoor lighting, construction, home improvement, landscaping, electrical services, or a related industry is highly desirable. Strong communication, relationship-building, presentation, and closing skills. Ability to independently generate leads and develop new business. Comfortable conducting field appointments and visiting residential and commercial properties. Organized and able to manage multiple customers, proposals, and follow-up deadlines. Comfortable using email, CRM software, mobile applications, and other sales technology. Professional appearance and customer-focused approach. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to pass all required pre-employment screening. Schedule and Travel This position generally conducts sales activity Monday through Friday, primarily during normal business hours. Evening or weekend appointments and networking events may occasionally be required based on customer availability and business needs. Regular local travel throughout the assigned sales territory is required.
