The State Group is seeking a Safety Manager for a 24-month project in Hawesville, Kentucky, with the possibility of transitioning to future projects as opportunities become available. This position is responsible for up to 1,200 tradecraft and office employees and will directly supervise 3-5 safety coordinators.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
As a Safety Manager, you will promote a positive, proactive safety culture through consistent leadership, behaviors, and actions. Review, maintain, and update safety programs, conduct audits, and lead thorough accident investigations. Represent the State Group in project, general, and subcontractor meetings. Track and analyze incident metrics and trends, using data to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Manage workers’ compensation cases with a high level of confidentiality, balancing the needs of the employee and the organization. Communicate safety concerns, trends, regulatory updates, and training materials to employees, leadership, and direct reports. Ensure full compliance with all applicable regulatory standards and governing bodies. Lead the development, coaching, and performance management of direct reports to ensure team effectiveness and growth. Divide time between working in the field and in the office. Collaborate with Operations to support a strong safety culture and maintain strong relationships with clients and regional associations.
WHAT YOU NEED:
TO JOIN OUR TEAM7+ years of safety experience, including at least 3+ years in a direct supervisory role. Bachelor's degree in safety or a related field, or equivalent experience. Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, training programs, inspections, and auditing processes. Experience in the construction or manufacturing industry is required. Working knowledge of compliance related to DOT, OSHA, NESC, and other federal regulations is preferred. Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong time management and organizational skills. Ability to thrive and maintain professionalism in a fast-paced work environment. Demonstrate professionalism and conduct that sets an example of the core values of the organization. Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information to senior leadership and customers.
