Job Description: The Tree Groundman is an essential member of a small crew working under a lead climber, primarily operating in urban residential areas. This hands-on role involves using a variety of equipment such as chainsaws, mini skid steers, and chippers to ensure efficient tree care and site preparation. The groundman supports the team by managing ropes, securing loads, and maintaining a safe work environment while traveling locally to various job sites daily.
Responsibilities: Operate chainsaws to assist with tree maintenance and removal Handle ropes and rigging for safe tree operations Operate mini skid steers and chippers for debris processing Remove debris and prepare sites for tree work Ensure compliance with safety protocols and guidelines Assist team members in completing tasks efficiently Secure loads for safe transport of materials Travel daily to local job sites within urban residential areas
Required Qualifications: Entry-level experience in tree care or grounds maintenance
Preferred Qualifications: Experience operating chainsaws and mini skid steers Knowledge of rope and rigging techniques Ability to operate chippers safely and efficiently Physical stamina to perform demanding outdoor work Strong safety awareness and adherence to protocols Effective teamwork and communication skills\nCompany
